I recorded this song at the "Duff House" in Ames late one night (2010?) waiting to hear from a friend about going out that night. Often in my songs I repeat phrases over and over. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be some sort of mantra or if I'm just way more interested in the song structure or chord progression to dive too deep into lyrics sometimes. I was experimenting with modulation & key changes and this was the result. I happen to think the faux intros are funny so I kept them in. The drum part was recorded by beat-boxing and by drumming my hands on my desk, making beer cans and a screwdriver rattle for snare tones.
