This was recorded live at Central College with the Jazz/Vocal Combo backing me in about 2003. I was part of the rhythm section, but I had the privilege of performing my own songs every now and then. Being a part of the Central Jazz/Vocal Combo is certainly a main thing that helped shape me as a musician. I'll forever be grateful for my opportunities at Central and will always feel honored to have worked under Gabriel Espinosa. This song later ended up on the Keepers of the Carpet album "Just Set Fire to the Prize." I still perform it. I think I'd call it a "fan favorite." The Thermal Detonators have gotten around to playing it a few times, but I don't think it compares to the energy and fun KotC had doing it, bringing 3 members of PCC on stage with us various times. This version includes a soprano sax solo done by Rusty Johnson, who has gone on to wow audiences since graduating from Central. I can't recall who played trumpet, but I believe Aaron Buzbee was on drums, Gabriel was on bass, and I played piano and vocals. After the performance I remember my piano instructor asking me if I grew up playing a piano with a heavy touch or if my wrists hurt due to how hard I was striking the keys as I played. The answer to both questions was yes. I remember hearing the studio version of the song a few times on the radio and once making the drive thru attendant at Wendy's listen to it as we waited for my order.

Woah uh oh oh! I'm breakin' up.
I spilled my guts and now my whole world just got nuts.
I thought you knew the pieces of my heart were glued.
Woah uh oh oh! I spilled my cup.
There's none left over. You could say that I am...
I thought you knew the pieces of my heart were glued.
And so are you: Glued.

And time keeps slipping by.
It fills my mind.
All the times I ran away
are catching up with me.
And in time I'll get over you.
And you will love me true.

And in this game of fools
I'm just like you: Glued.
